Charcoal Coffee

I want this

Distinctive to the city of Jogjakarta, Indonesia, Charcoal Coffee is a drink prepared with finely ground coffee, heaping spoonfuls of sugar, and a burning piece of charcoal from the cooking fire. The charcoal is believed to aid upset stomachs, but the drink's real appeal seems to be its novelty and the smoky flavor that the burning ember imparts.

Charcoal coffee or in Indonesia called with Kopi Arang or Kopi Joss  was first made by a man named Man or usually called Le Man in around 1970's. Le Man was a street vendor who was usually sell coffee and snacks since 1965.
Le Man's stall is still existed until now  among another Kopi Joss  stalls.  Kopi Joss was first made because of a consumer, which was from Semarang, requested Le Man to make a coffee drink. But it could not be an ordinary coffee drink, it had to be added with a flamed coal before it was served. So Le Man added flamed coal and served it to the consumer. Since then, the unique coffee drink became one of  the menu  in Le Man's stall. It even became the special menu and many people started to visit Le Man's stall only to drink Kopi Joss.
Why the flamed is coal added into the coffee?  The answered  this, the flamed coal has  the function of absorbing toxin from the coffee. In the opinion of Le Man's, he put flamed coal to boil the coffee more. But when we asked some of our friends, they said that the flamed coal is useful for absorbing caffeine. Maybe that was why we still can sleep although we had drunk a glass of  Kopi Joss without any trouble. Another  opinion says  that flamed coal can pull out the aroma of the coffee so it will smell better.
After Le Man has been starting to sell Kopi Joss, many other seller try to sell Kopi Joss  too, but Le Man is still the inventor and the originator of Kopi Joss. Le Man's stall opens every day, from 2 PM until 2 AM. You can afford a glass of Kopi Joss for  only Rp 4000,-. Not so expensive, yet it is unique and delightful. Like it!!
Because I'm happy
